JT Decorating is a sole trader painting and decorating business covering Greater Manchester and Glossop. We are the "data controller" for the personal information described here, which means we decide how and why it is used.

• When you send an enquiry or request a quote on this website: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the service you need, the location of the property, your message, and any photos you choose to upload.
• When you contact us by email, WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook: whatever you send us, and the contact details shown on your account.
• When you visit this website: basic usage and performance information, described under "Cookies and analytics" below.

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. This is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and is part of our legitimate interest in running our business.
• To carry out work you have booked and keep proper business records. This is necessary for the contract, and we have legal obligations around accounts and tax.
• To keep this website secure and working properly. This is our legitimate interest.

We do not sell your information. We do not send marketing emails or add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.

We use a small number of service providers to run this website and our business:

• Vercel, which hosts this website, provides our analytics, and stores any photos you upload.
• Resend, which delivers your enquiry to our inbox by email.
• Telegram, which sends us an instant notification of new enquiries, including the details you entered.
• If you contact us on WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook, those platforms (operated by Meta) process your messages under their own privacy policies.

We may also share information where the law requires it. Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your information is transferred, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as approved data-transfer arrangements or standard contractual clauses.

We keep enquiry details and photos only for as long as we need them to reply, prepare a quote, carry out any work, and deal with any follow-up questions. When we no longer need them, we delete them. Financial records, such as invoices, are kept for as long as the law requires for tax purposes.

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count visits and measure how quickly our pages load. These tools do not set cookies on your device, and we do not use them to identify you or for advertising. For that reason we do not show a cookie banner.

If this changes, we will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

You have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
• ask us to delete your information, or restrict how we use it;
• object to us using your information for our legitimate interests;
• ask for your information in a portable format, where this applies.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at the email address above. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and respond without undue delay.
